Exotic Birds At Risk in Gothenburg

The exotic birds currently residing in the Slottskogen Park in Gothenburg, on the west coast of Sweden, may be facing a grim future.

On Thursday, the park authority decided that they no longer have the funds to pay for the upkeep of the birds, according to the newspaper Metro in Gothenburg, The goal is to find new homes for all the 70 birds, among which are flamingos and pelicans, but if unsuccessful they may have to be put down.

However, the park will be keeping their entire penguin population.
