Hamrén New Swedish Coach

Erik Hamrén, coach of Norwegian champions Rosenborg Trondheim, is to take charge of the Swedish national soccer team.

He will combine both jobs until he takes over full-time at Sweden next August. The 52-year-old replaces Lars Lagerbäck, who quit last month following Sweden's failure to reach the 2010 World Cup.

Hamrén's Sweden contract will run until the end of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
