Green Energy Creates Jobs

According to a new report, restructuring the Swedish energy supply system towards more renewable energy would create 60,000 new jobs.

The authors of the study include the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation and the Federation of Swedish Farmers. They base their conclusions on increasing Sweden’s reliance on renewable energy to 70 percent by the year 2020, along with a 20 percent improvement in energy efficiency.

The new jobs would mostly come in biofuels, wind energy, and the construction sector for refitting homes and offices to make them more energy efficient.
