Tourists visit the remains of the Berlin Wall at the eve of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall

The Berlin Wall: Sweden Remembers

Sweden's prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt will travel to Berlin today to take part in the ceremony commerorating the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The ceremony, attended by World leaders, is taking place at the Brandenburg gate at 7pm this evening. In Stockholm, a number of events, including seminars and discussions will be taking place throughout the day as part of Sweden's current Presidency of the EU.

We've been digging in the archives, and have found the Radio Sweden broadcasts from the day of the wall's fall, and the day after, including comments from experts and Sweden's then Prime Minister, but more attention was paid to Sweden's then Foreign Minister Sten Andersson making the first visit by a Swedish politician to the occupied Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania since World War 2.
