Refugees Spied Upon In Sweden

Between 10 and 20 states are carrying out intelligence work in Sweden today, mainly spying on refugees from their own countries. In Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter on Tuesday, the chief analyst for the Swedish Police Intelligence services, Säpo, claims there have been suspicions regarding Chinese intelligence gathering among refugees in Sweden for years.

Earlier this year a 61 year old Chinese national was apprehended in Sweden, suspected of intelligence gathering for the Chinese state on the Uyghur population in Sweden. Shortly after, a Chinese diplomat was sent back from Sweden. According to Säpo, these incidents are connected.
