Swine Flu Cases Double

The number of confirmed new cases of swine flu in Sweden doubled last week compared to the week before.

The Swedish Institute for Infectious Disease Control says 2403 new cases were reported last week, and estimates that since the middle of September between 180,000 and 460,000 Swedes have been infected with the H1N1 virus.

There is a national vaccination campaign underway, but so far only children and those in risk groups are getting the shots. Vaccinations for the general public are due to begin in December.
