Entrapment to Limit Illegal Alcohol?

The Swedish Police Union and the Swedish temperance movement IOGT are proposing that the Police should be allowed to buy illegal alcohol to stamp out black market trade.

If police are allowed to pose as potential buyers they may be able to infiltrate the market and root out the dealers, the two organisations say in a new report.

In the Swedish daily Svenska Dagbladet the chairman of the Police Union Jan Karlsen and the chairwoman for IOGT, Anna Carlstedt, write that 65 % of Sweden’s Police officers support the proposal that Swedish police should be allowed to use entrapment against organised crime.
