Church leaders Condemn Asylum Law

Sweden is officially proud of what it calls its generous refugee policy - often criticizing other European Union colleagues for being more restrictive.

But a long list of Swedish churches headed by the archbishop have gathered behind a blistering report condemning Sweden's 4-year-old refugee law.

At a meeting of church people, human rights activists and political party representatives at Stockholm Cathedral offices on Monday, a high-level official from the Swedish migration authorities listened and responded to the author of the report called "Different Worlds - the church's description of the failures in Sweden's asylum policy."
