European Views on USA Out of Date

With the Copenhagen climate summit now just over a week away, President Barack Obama's recent decision to attend the talks has been seen by some as a sign that the United States finally sees climate change as a pressing problem. Others though believe any promises made on emission cuts will be blocked by the senate back home.

At a conference in Stockholm on Friday, which brought together city mayors from the United States and Europe in a joint appeal to the decision makers meeting in Copenhagen to recognize the role of cities in fighting climate change, America's Deputy Ambassador at the US embassy in Stockholm, Bob Silverman, told Radio Sweden's Dave Russell that they ARE serious about climate change and that European conceptions towards US attitudes on climate change were out of date.
