Swedish Troops Under Fire

Swedish and Finnish soldiers have once again come under fire in Afghanistan. The soldiers were patrolling an area in the northern part of the war-torn country, some 150 kilometers away from their base in Mazar-i-Sharif, according to a statement issued by the Swedish Armed Forces on Sunday.

The soldiers responded to the fire and demanded air support before the attackers left the area. Swedish and Finnish as part of the NATO-led ISAF forces soldiers have repeatedly been attacked in Afghanistan in the previous months. So far, no Swedish or Finnish soldier has been killed in these incidents.
