Chinese Buy SAAB Production of 9-3, 9-5 Models

Chinese automaker BAIC Beijing has confirmed the purchase of several technology segments of Swedish SAAB. The state operated Chinese company announced that the deal includes acquisition of production rights and machinery for SAAB’s 9-3 and 9-5 models.

SAAB, which is still owned by General Motors, was recently judicially divided into five separate companies. The split-up was based on a decision by the Swedish National Debt Office, who wants to facilitate selling different parts of the corporation to separate buyers.
