Swedish Diplomat with Hosiery Trouble

A Swedish diplomat to Russia was recently forced to leave his employ due to getting himself into a rather tight corner, according to Russian NTV.

The diplomat was caught on camera during a raid on a shop in south western Moscow, as he was recommending nylon tights to a female customer.

During the police hearing the diplomat allegedly told the police that he brought Belarusian hosiery to Russia in his car, which was a registered diplomat vehicle. According to news agency AFP, the moonlighting Swedish diplomat is now suspected of smuggling goods between the two countries.

According to the Russian Foreign ministry the Swede has already left both his employ and the country, but this has as of yet been neither confirmed nor denied by the Swedish Foreign Ministry.
