Swedish Greenhouse Gas Emission Decreasing

Sweden’s greenhouse gas emissions are continuing to decrease, the country’s Environment Protection Agency has announced. New statistics published in Stockholm on Tuesday show that this type of emission has been reduced by almost twelve percent since 1990. This is the equivalent of 8.5 million tons of the pollutant gases.

Environment Minister Andreas Carlgren welcomed the announcement. He said this achievement was well suited to be announced at the Copenhagen Climate Summit. Carlgren pointed out that Sweden’s stricter rules for limiting pollution from motor vehicles for the first time have led to emission reduction even in the transport sector.
