IAC Announces More Lay-offs

updated 15:20

Prior to the new development, one of the larger subcontractors to the car industry, IAC, announced a saving scheme which will include the laying off of staff.

According to IAC’s Sweden manager, Marcus Nyman, all four factories IAC have in Sweden will be affected.

“Next week we will have to give people notice to adapt to a situation where Saab is shut down. Unfortunately I can’t say to what extent our staff will be affected. But a significant amount of people will be given notice and it will affect all our Swedish factories,” he said to Swedish Radio News.

IAC supplies the Swedish car industry with a number of components, and if Saab disappears many subcontractors will lose their business.
