Mixed Reaction to Spyker Deal

Champagne was flowing in Sweden’s motor town of Trollhättan after the news broke that General Motors had finally agreed to sell its Saab unit to the Dutch luxury car-maker Spyker.

If the sale hadn’t gone through, GM had threatened to just close Saab down, which would have meant the loss of thousands of jobs in western Sweden. But there are still many questions surrounding the deal, not least in Spyker’s home in the Netherlands itself. Linda Nyberg has more.
