Jesper Parnevik may be forced to retire through injury

Parnevik Ponders Retirement

One of Sweden's most famous golfers, Jesper Parnevik, looks set to call time on his career due to a severe back injury.

The 44 year old told Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet that he needs to undergo surgery to repair a fractured vertebrae in his lower back which he said would mean he couldn't play anymore.

Parnevik, a five-time winner on the U.S tour , underwent emergency back surgery on Monday to keep him playing for a further month but a more advanced operation that could risk his career, "seems inevitable."
