Swedes Enjoy Opening Hockey Win

Sweden's ice hockey squad say they'll "get better" following their relatively low key opening group win over Germany at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Mattias Ohlund scored on the powerplay for the defending champions in their 2-0 victory with goal minder Henrik Lundqvist stopping 21 shots.

"It felt important to get a good start," Lundqvist said.

"Heading into the game, I was nervous. It always feels good to have a shutout."

Canada and Russia remain the favourites for hockey gold and a gold medal for the home nation in hockey would mean more than any other medal combined.

Radio Sweden's Dave Russell spoke to Hockey nut Dave White , presenter of the afternoon show at CBC Radio in Whitehorse Yukon, to find out just much Canadians love their hockey.
