Severe Weather Warning

Published fredag 19 februari 2010 kl 14.22

The Swedish meteorological service has issued a severe weather warning, calling on the public to be prepared for dangerous driving conditions and structural damage due to heavy snowfall, icy conditions and high winds.

There have been long delays on roads due to breakdowns and accidents and trains have been affected by snow clogging up their gears. Schools have also been closed in some areas due to fears over roofs collapsing due the weight of snow.

More snow and strong wind is on the way over the weekend, with between 20 and 30 cm expected in southern and eastern areas.
