Swedes Beat Finns to Top Olympic Group

In a rematch of the 2006 Olympic Hockey final in Turin, defending champions Sweden won their latest group game against Finland in Vancouver in emphatic fashion, 3-0 ,  which enabled them to top their group and earn a bye to the quarter-finals on Wednesday.

Loui Eriksson (2) and Nicklas Bäckström scored the goals while at the back Henrik Lundqvist had a 20-save shutout. Sweden will now be seeded second on goal difference behind the American team which beat home nation Canada on Sunday. The defending champions will play the winners of Slovakia and Norway.

Canada and Russia, the pre-tournament favourites are in Sweden's side of the draw but ahead of their quarter-final on Wednesday, Swedish coach Bengt-Åke Gustafsson said;

"Before we face one of those two teams we have to beat another team, it's not going to be an easy one in the quarterfinal," he said.
