Unemployment on the Rise

The unemployment rate has gone up in the fourth quarter of 2009, new figures by Statistics Sweden show. According to the calculations, some 400,000 people were without a job at the end of last year, which corresponded to a rise of more than 100,000 compared to the year before. The official unemployment rate is at 8.3 percent at the moment – an increase by 2.2 percentage points.
