Swedes Celebrate Relay Gold

There was gold medal joy for Sweden yet again in the cross country events in Vancouver as the men cruised to 4x10km relay gold ahead of Norway and the Czech Republic. It's Sweden's first relay gold in 22 years.

Marcus Hellner , winning his second gold in Vancouver, crossed the finish line waving a Swedish flag. Daniel Richardsson, Johan Olsson, Anders Södergren made up for winning team.

For 32 year old Södergren who skied the third leg, gold was extra special after an injury ravaged season in which he'd competed in just four World Cup events after sustaining a serious back injury in the off season and then contracting a virus in December that kept him out of training for seven weeks.

"This means everything " he told AFP. " This relay has been my big goal for the whole season. For me, it's fantastic to be here, standing as Olympic champion."
