Ex-Police Chief Suspected of Pimping
The list of suspected sex crimes involving a former Swedish police chief has grown with a prosecutor on Thursday telling the TT news agency that Göran Lindberg was also involved in pimping.
Prosecutor Håkan Roswall is looking for a custody extension to continue the investigation and laid out a series of new suspected crimes against Lindberg, including pimping between the years 2006 and 2009 and more incidents of rape.
The former police chief, who was well known in Sweden for his campaign for gender equality in the police force, was arrested in late January accused of rape and planning to rape minors. He says he's not guilty of any crimes and has contested his custody.
Roswall had spoken earlier of the complexity of the investigation and the need for an extended time frame to gather evidence.
