Facing cutbacks - AstraZeneca

AstraZeneca Leaves Lund

The Swedish division of the international pharmaceutical corporation AstraZeneca is closing down its branch facilities in the southern city of Lund, with the projected loss of 900 jobs. A company spokesman announced that the local research activities will be transferred to Mölndal on the west coast.

Currently, many of the 900 employees in Lund are working on different medical projects, some of them in cooperation with scientists from the city’s university.
