Pension Fund Threatens to Stop Bonuses

Published torsdag 4 mars 2010 kl 10.21
How much better can you achieve with a bonus?

One of Sweden's biggest pension funds, Första Ap-fonden, threatens to vote no to bonuses in this spring's shareholders meetings, unless they have been properly evaluated.

In an opinion piece in the daily Dagens Nyheter, the CEO of Första Ap-fonden writes that there are companies that still have not presented "any attempts what so ever" to evaluate their bonus schemes and how well they work as an instrument to reach the goals the company wants to achieve.

In the upcoming share holders meetings, Första Ap-fonden will also be asking questions regarding the sustainability of the various bonus systems which, according to the article, currently only a few companies deal with today.
