Cheaper Vaccination against Cervical Cancer

The planned mass vaccinations of girls against cervical cancer will be significantly cheaper than previously expected. Swedish Radio news reports that the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions has been granted a discount of 80 percent on the vaccine.

The total cost of the mass vaccination is expected to be around 4.3 million dollars – which is much less than then sum the local authorities and regions have received from the state to carry out the vaccinations. Mass vaccinations of girls aged eleven and twelve are scheduled to commence in the autumn.
