3,000 Daily Doses of Cocaine

Tests in Stockholm’s sewage have shown that the inhabitants of Sweden’s capital consume some 3,000 doses of cocaine on a regular Saturday. The commercial TV channel TV4 carried out the measuring at a wastewater plant on a weekend in January this year.

According to TV4, the tests clearly show that around 2,000 doses of cocaine were consumed in the city of Stockholm, with another 1,000 coming from the southern suburbs of the Swedish capital. Similar tests in the Norwegian capital Oslo have previously shown that the people there consume some 8,000 doses daily – despite the fact that Oslo roughly has half as many inhabitants as Stockholm.
