About half of all Swedish 15-year-olds admit having stolen something or other over the last twelve months. This is the result of a survey conducted by the National Council for Crime Prevention among roughly 7,000 youngsters nationwide. According to the survey most of the law breakers have committed petty theft or shoplifting. Misdemeanors of this kind are equally recorded among members of both sexes.
The Crime Prevention Council also announced that crimes involving violence were committed by one out of ten 15-year-olds, and mostly by males.
