Do Swedes Need to Brush Up Their English?

Swedes in general have a comparatively good command of the English language. Or do they? Prof. Emeritus Leif Lewin at Uppsala University says Swedes in the academic world leave much to be desired when speaking or writing in English. He claims it is sometimes embarrassing to listen to Swedes speaking English at major seminars and make themselves objects of ridicule and laughter by mixing colloquial and academic languages. He explains to reporter Azariah Kiros why he is urging his colleagues to brush up their English or have their work translated into English
