Tracking Half a Million People

LifeGene, a collaboration of all of Sweden’s medical schools, is run by Stockholm’s Karolinska Institute, the same organization that awards the Nobel Prize in Medicine every year.

LifeGene will monitor half a million Swedes from newborns upwards, and track them over the coming decades. According to LifeGene, researchers internationally will be able to use the data anyway they like, to explore how genes, environment and lifestyle are linked to health.
