Tabloid newspaper Aftonbladet has now been reported to the Swedish police for libeling Sweden's former labor market minister, Sven Otto Littorin.
According to channel TV4, the police confirmed this information late Friday evening and said Littorin was not behind the complaint. Now, Littorin will be contacted to say whether he would like to move forward with the complaint--a step that is required for a possible indictment.
The police report was filed after Aftonbladet published allegations that Littorin had bought sex, something that Littorin denied. He surprised Sweden by resigning from his post, just days before Aftonbladet ran the article.
