Twelve Million Bottle Caps Collected

Elementary school students in Sweden have collected more than 27,000 tons of bottle caps, as part of an annual recycling campaign. Altogether that’s more than 12 million bottle caps.

The winning class of forth and fifth graders is in Hästveda in southern Sweden. The students there  gathered more than 2000 kilograms of bottle caps. According to a press release from the contest organizers, they’ll be donating their prize of around 7000 dollars to environmental projects.
