When a Huge Employer Closes Down

Ten months ago, the medium-sized town of Gävle - 170 km north of Stockholm - was in the headlines when the telecommunications equipment maker Ericsson announced it would close down its plant there, leaving 856 people without a job.

The news was bombshell in Gävle, but soon various agencies in the town pulled together to try to soften the blow.

Radio Sweden's Ulla Engberg went to Gävle to find out what has been done.
