Training exercise broke security rules

The Swedish military broke the rules, when Afghans who were not Swedish citizens took part in a recent exercise reports TV4 news.

The Afghans were playing a number of roles - as village elder, Afghan police, or as part of a crowd scene, reports TV4. All to help Swedish soldiers train for possible situations when serving in Afghanistan.

But one of the 60 Afghans involved told TV4 news that about 40 of them were not Swedish citizens. And the military has since admitted that they had an inadequate system of checks.

The defence minister Sten Tolgfors says that the military must now explain themselves.
