Under fire but no injuries

Swedish troops have been in combat with rebel forces in Afghanistan on Saturday.

Together with the Afghan army the Swedes are carrying out reconnaissance patrols of the contested area west of Mazar-i-Sharif, where most of the recent fighting has happened.

Despite being shot at with grenade launchers none of the Swedish soldiers are reported injured.

On Friday the Afghan forces reported that they had captured seven armed rebels. During Saturday's fighting an Afghan female civilian was injured and taken to hospital by helicopter. As Saturday wore on the fighting became more intense, but had slackened off with the coming of darkness.
