Lindberg appeals to Supreme Court

Former police chief Göran Lindberg appealed his sentence of six years imprisonment for multiple counts of sex crimes to the Swedish Supreme Court on Wednesday.

Lindberg's lawyer, Karl Harling, told news agency TT that Lindberg wants the court to overrule a previous judgment convicting him of two rapes.

Lindberg's case took the nation by surprise earlier this year, especially as he had been known as an outspoken proponent of equality.
