Anja Pärson second in super-G

Sweden’s Anja Pärson took second in the women’s World Cup downhill skiing super-G in Cortina, Italy Friday. The Swede finished behind American Olympic champion Lindsey Vonn. That puts Pärson seventh in the overall World Cup standings.

In soccer, the Swedish women rallied for a 2-1 win over the United States Friday in the opening game of the Four Nations Tournament in China, a warm-up for this year’s World Cup in Germany.
