A judge who was caught on the way to court driving under the influence of alcohol has been removed from the case she was going to hear.
It was on Thursday that the judge got stopped at a police check-point in Halmstad in southern Sweden and was found to have more than the legal level of blood alcohol. The trial was postponed after her driver’s licence was confiscated by the police.
Now the court authorities have decided that another judge will take over the trial, which concerns a major burglary. In addition, the DUI judge will not be hearing any cases involving drunken driving.
