Travelcards made invalid by faulty metro gate

Hundreds of metro commuters had their Stockholm travelcards blocked Friday, after passing a faulty automatic gate.

For some reason the gate at the Rågsved station in the south of the city let the commuters through, but then blocked the electronic cards, so when the passengers got off the tube and wanted to get on a bus or a commuter train their cards were invalid.

Stockholm Public Transport (SL) told news agency TT they aren't sure exactly how many passengers were affected, but that anyone hit by the fault should go to a customer service centre to get their "Access" cards restored.
