Swedes finished second and third in the men’s World Cup slalom race in Planai, Austria Tuesday. André Myhrer finished four hundreds of a second behind the winner, Jean-Baptise Grange of France. Mattias Hargin was a quarter of a second farther back. The finish puts Myhrer in third place in the overall Alpine Skiing World Cup standings, with Hargin in fifth place.
In the World Handball Championships, underway here in Sweden, the home team lost to Denmark in the final game of the second round Tuesday. But both teams advance to Friday’s semi-finals, with Sweden taking on France, and Denmark facing Spain.
