Swedish film editors awarded at Sundance

The Swedish-made documentary "The black power mixtape 1967-1975" was awarded for its editing at the independent film festival Sundance in Utah, USA.

The film, made by Göran Hugo Olsson and Hanna Lejonqvist, is about the American black power movement. A lot of the film content comes from the archives of Swedish Television. The jury's motivation, according to the festival website: "Combining that 16mm footage, undiscovered until now, with contemporary audio interviews, this film illuminates the people and culture that fuelled change and brings the movement to life anew".

The documentary premières in Sweden in February.
