Storm warning for Gothenburg

Updated 10:22 AM

A class-2 weather warning remains in place for Sweden's southwest coast for storm-force winds on Saturday.

The Swedish Weather Service, SMHI, says coastal areas of Bohuslän, Halland and even Sweden's second city, Gothenburg could face the stormy gusts, which might damage property and fell trees.

Winds are expected to reach 25 meters per second, 90 kilometers per hour (about 56 miles per hour). There’s also a warning for high seas off the Swedish west coast.

The intense area of low pressure has already caused damage in Scotland on its way across northern Europe.
