Bosnia requests extradition for war crime suspect

Bosnia-Herzegovina has reportedly requested the extradition of a 44 year old currently in jail in Östersund, in northern Sweden.

According to the Swedish Prosecution Authority’s international prosecution office, the man, who has both Croat and Bosnian citizenship, is believed to have taken part in a massacre in the Bosnian village of Sijekovac in March 1992.

He was detained in a small community in the province of Jämtland a month ago, and has reportedly been sought internationally since 2009.
