Stockholm demo for democracy in Egypt

Around 400 demonstrators gathered in Stockholm’s Sergelstorg plaza Saturday afternoon, in solidarity with the pro-democracy demonstrators in Egypt.

“All squares are Tahrir” was on one of the banners, in reference to Liberation Square in Cairo, where the protests have continued for 12 days. Speakers called on Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak to immediately resign.

Jakop Dalunde, one of the co-leaders of the Green Party’s youth organization, told the crowd: “Brave people in North Africa’s dictatorships are showing their desire for democracy.”
