Autopsy delays criticised

It takes way too long to carry out autopsies in Sweden, according to new figures revealed by news agency TT.

It can take up to ten days, TT reports, and according to experts that can mean that valuable evidence can be lost.

There are six forensic labs in Sweden with the right to carry out autopsies for prosecutors or the police. One lab that has been especially criticised is Gothenburg, it takes on average ten days for a body to be investigated there, according to TT,
