Pärson wins first race of season

Swedish alpine skier Anja Pärson has won her first downhill of the season, beating American Lindsay Vonn by 73 hundredths of a second in Tarvisio, Italy. Pärson took the lead after the first time check, and only extended her lead as she continued down the course.

Pärson's last world cup victory was back in January 2010. Vonn's second place meant that she won the downhill World Cup for the fourth year in a row.
