More complaints filed against police

The number of complaints filed against law enforcement officials has increased by 12 percent over the past two years.

According to the annual report from the National Police-related Crimes Unit, last year there were around 7350 complaints from the members of the public against police, judges, and prosecutors in Sweden. That’s an increase of 825 compared to 2008.

However, the number of complaints against prosecutors and judges has remained largely the same, and the increase reflects an increase in complaints filed against police officers.
