Saab meet worried subcontractors

Troubled car manufacturer Saab invited concerned subcontractors for an extra meeting on Monday, but no new information was given, according to news agency TT.

Workers were also told that production would be halted for another fortnight.

Meanwhile, during the weekend Saab negotiated with real estate company Hemfosa in an attempt to sell its factory buildings in Trollhättan, just north of Gothenburg, according to business daily Dagens Industri.

The sales would give Saab a much needed cash injection.

Saab spokeswoman Gunilla Gustavs declined to comment on the negotiations with Hemfosa but claimed that the problem is near a solution.
