Police look for more victims of arrested paedophile

Police fear that a large number of so far unidentified children could have been in contact with a man arrested in April on rape, sexual assault and child pornography charges.

The 41-year-old man has contacted children online using social networking websites such as Facebook, snyggast.se and MSN which makes it difficult for police to identify the victims, news agency TT reports.

“The girls themselves have not reported the crimes expect in one case but they have been identified through his computer,” prosecutor Markus Hellsten said at a press conference on Thursday.

So far police have identified 14 young girls but at least 35 girls remain to be identified.

The man has been charged with 13 cases of molestation, five cases of sexual assault involving young children and four cases of purchasing sex.
