Suspect arrested

Police send out mass email to track Swedish paedophile

Police have received several responses to the mass email sent out to over 800 young girls asking hem to contact police if they believe they have been approached by a 41-year-old man from Haninge, south of Stockholm.

The man has been arrested and charged with sexually abusing and raping several young girls, most between 11 and 15-years-old but the youngest girl was only seven.

Using the aliases “Hick69mm”, “Peter” or “Peter_i_Sthlm” the man approached his victims online on social networking sites such as Facebook and Snyggast. Police have so far identified 15 girls from information and pictures but are still looking for at least 35 girls who have been in contact with the man.

“We hope that this email will help the victims understand that they are not alone,” police spokesman Christer Axling told Swedish Television. “There might be more victims out there and this will hopefully encourage them to report the crime and come talk to us.”
