Court opens the way for homeopathic remedies

The Supreme Administrative Court set a precedent on Friday when it ruled that the doctor who recommended homeopathic medicines to his patients did not do anything wrong. According to the court, the doctor did not put the patients in harm's way, and therefore, the doctor does not need to go on probation, as had ruled a lower court-like authority.

The doctor had recommended such remedies, in parallel with more scientifically accepted medicines.

Homeopathic medicines have been criticized by the scientific world for not being any more effective than sugar pills, and in Sweden, they are only prescribed in exceptional cases.
